The Vilnius Congress Centre: A New Heart of Europe
Vilnius, Lithuania

More than a venue, this civic landmark translates Lithuania’s identity into a radical form, asserting Vilnius as a vibrant European capital. The design reimagines the Lithuanian Tricolor as a journey of liberation

The centre is wrapped in a green iridescent metal skin: symbolizing the Baltic landscape.
A red transparent veil of GFRC symbolizes the sacrifice for sovereignty and the nation’s enduring passion.
And the yellow GFRC veil wrapped entrance lobby is a soaring beacon representing Vilnius freedom and radiant future.

The architecture mediates between the dense urbanity of Naujamiestis and the soft ecology of the Neris River. The project integrates seamlessly into the cityscape while establishing a new focal point. The landmark entrance tower joins a duo of existing high-rises, transforming the area into a significant multi-cultural urban marker.

A continuous public plaza serves as the project’s heart, creating connections with historic landmarks. This edge is defined by sustainable water management, featuring bioswales and rain gardens that filter urban runoff, ensuring the building functions as an active participant in the river’s health.

The lobby functions as a gateway to the foyer, exhibition spaces and the restaurant.

Spread over three levels, the foyer accommodates informal socializing areas, breakout areas, custom exhibits and popup stands.

Coffee shops. and food venues are strategically spread throughout.

The restaurant offers expansive views of Vilnius and the Neris river. It accommodates both intimate dining and formal functions.

Main halls and meeting rooms support a great variety of gatherings.

The total area above grade is 30,000 square meters.
