Villa Saudade—A Private Island

Hidden within the shifting tides and labyrinthine waterways of the Everglades, Villa Saudade is a study in contrasts—seclusion and exposure, shelter and fluidity, stillness and motion

The architecture is one of quiet resilience. Like a weathered seashell, its walls are porous, allowing sea breezes to flow unimpeded, carrying with them the briny scent of the estuary. Here, water is a presence—glimmering, reflecting, and shaping the experience of space.

The villa is composed of four distinct casitas, arranged around a central courtyard dominated by an expansive pool that mirrors the shifting sky. Each structure serves a purpose: a living pavilion for gathering, a family space with an open kitchen, and five private bedrooms that offer moments of solitude and closeness with the environment.
